STAND! Over the Years
STAND! For Families Free of Violence has a rich history. This section of our website is a window into the past: a glimpse of some of our most memorable people, moments, and facts. Over the years, with the help of volunteers, staff, donors, and community supporters, we've experienced tremendous growth- and continue to serve victims of domestic violence and child abuse in Contra Costa County.

The Guild was founded in 1979 by Betty Broll, an ardent supporter of children’s services. In 1996 the Guild officially adopted the name Ellen’s Guild as tribute to the late Ellen Toby Fisher, who enthusiastically resurrected the Guild. Ellen’s Guild meets monthly to increase awareness of child abuse prevention and treatment and to support the children and families of STAND!. Join Ellen's Guild |
