Board of Directors
Laurie Wolkow, Chair |
Company and Title: Safeway Inc., Manager of Organizational Effectiveness It was important to me that I connect with an agency that provides real value, uses its budget wisely, and cares deeply about the causes it serves. STAND! fits that profile, so I wanted to be a part of it. If the small contribution I make as a Board Member helps one woman find shelter when she needs it, or prevents one parent from acting on the impulse of child abuse, then maybe I’ve done something worthwhile. |
Colleen O'Brien, Vice Chair |
Company and Title: Charles Schwab & Co. Inc., Vice President & Branch Manager I have been a single mother of two boys for over 10 years, and I wanted to show them at an early age how to participate with all people in their community. I enjoy the diversity of our programs, and I am confident we do the best work in the county. That makes me very grateful and proud to be a part of STAND! |
Gary Snyder, Secretary |
Linda Best, Assistant Secretary |
Company and Title: Contra Costa Council, President & CEO I joined the Board because my family has been affected by domestic violence, and I strongly support STAND!’s mission to prevent it and to assist victims. I believe it is our obligation to improve our communities for our children and grandchildren. |
Tim Truesdale, Treasurer |
Company and Title: President and CEO of Community Resource Associates, Inc. I have worked in the non-profit affordable housing industry for over 30 years and know first hand how difficult it is to raise funds to support our various missions. This has given me the desire to help other agencies achieve their goals which in turn helps improve the quality of life of citizens in our communties. Working with the resident managers of our housing developments provided me with real life data on how domestic violence affects every person in the household, especially the children. |
