Testimonials

"As a STAND! For Families Free of Violence volunteer, I feel I can be one person that makes a difference in the fight against domestic violence. When I stand before a group and share my personal experience with financial, verbal and physical abuse, it shows that domestic violence doesn't have to define a victim and that there is hope of recovery. I am fortunate to be able to share the available STAND programs for intervention, prevention, and treatment in the belief that someone will be triggered into action to help themselves or others. I know I have touched lives through sharing my time. My favorite memory is when teenagers came up to me after a speech and gave me hugs while thanking me for my words."

-Barbara Bentley, Speaker's Bureau for 10 years

"Volunteering at STAND! allows me the opportunity to give a 'leg up' to those who have become accustomed to being trampled on, to give hope and extend a helping hand to those who so desperately need and deserve a break in life... and few, if any, are more deserving than these brave and resilient children."

- Alison Blake, Childcare in the Rainbow Room for 4 years
