Recurring Volunteering
Recurring volunteers make a long-term commitment (minimum one year) to volunteer for STAND! Below is a list of the most frequently asked questions and information including requirements and training.

What does it mean to be a Recurring Volunteer? Becoming a Recurring Volunteer is an investment of time, energy, and heart.
How much time does it take to be a Recurring Volunteer? There is a 16-50 hour pre-service training that most Recurring Volunteers must complete. After the training, weekly commitments range from 1-4 hours a week.
Do I need to make a long-term commitment for the program? We ask that Recurring Volunteers commit to at least a year.
Do I need to have any special skills or meet any requirements? No. We encourage people from all cultures and professions, and all ethnic and educational backgrounds. Once accepted into the program, you will receive all necessary training through our 50 hour pre-service training.

Exactly what does a Recurring Volunteer do? It all depends on what position you choose. See our list below of available positions.
What sort of support will I receive? You will be supported every step of the way. You will have chances for continuing education and other online resources on the STAND! website. Each program will have their own way of supporting you - you may have a monthly meeting or you may have an annual event.
How do I become a Recurring Volunteer? Fill out the Volunteer Interest Form and someone will contact you within 72 hours.
When's the next orientation? Orientations usually occur once a week during the day. See our calendar for our next orientation
When's the next training? Training occurs three times a year. See our calendar for the next training.
Is there a fee for the training? Volunteers pay $25 for the training. If you're interested in taking the training strictly for educational purposes, the cost is $200. Other fees may apply for Livescan (background) clearance.
